Yay! Victoria’s Secret show is near!

I’d post my favourite photos but there are way too many.  But that’s ok because someone else has done that on ONTD so here’s the link to view the most beautiful girls in the world (this year) wearing the latest VS underwear.

Not a fan of Abbey Lee’s look, Miranda Kerr is much the same but a slight downer I think.  The old favourites are all there still looking good.  Liu Wen’s look isn’t very flattering. Marissa Miller’s legs never end!  Looking at Chanel Iman’s outfit in the photos made me feel a bit uncomfortable.  She still looks like she’s 16!  It feels kind of wrong.  Overall, I’m not sure what theme they are going for this year but it all looks very dirty and space age.  I liked it better when they are all glam and looking hot but this year…not so sure.

Thinking Pink!

In a pink mood this week.  I went to DJs in my lunch break this week in search of a new make up pouch and some blotting paper.  Just my luck I bought Bloom products and an OPI nail polish in Dule De Leche to add to it!  If only I had a dress to show for…it’s been awhile!  But busy saving for a weekend in Sydney with Carlin

Also, I’ve been feeling inspired and bought a hot glue gun, plus a cheap loose shirt I found in SES and a bunch of washers from Bunnings.  Not sure what I’ll be doing with it but the finished product will be posted soon!

Oh and before I forget my awesome friend Jackie bought me this little coin purse from Bloomingdales when she went to NY a few weeks back.  Thanks Jackie!

Lady Gaga’s latest STUNNING new video

Ok I’m a massive sucker for Lady Gaga, I’m going to her concert and stoked that she keeps coming up with something to surprise the masses, so I’m sure that my ticket to her show is a lot more worthy than what Britney is conjuring up right now (super worried that it’ll suck).

The outfits, the imagery, the makeup, the full on ending (be warned).  She’s done it again. It’s given me a lot of inspiration with her outfits and the colours she’s using in this video.

So after weeks of hype here’s Bad Romance.

Monday nights shouldn’t be bland

Tonight I made Monday useful. I made an awesome dinner, had chocolate dipped strawberries for dessert and enjoyed a bit of half priced Grazia and my footspa watching Jamie’s Oliver’s show. Good times!

Also added some photos from Bretts Wharf. It’s awesome walking to the ferry and seeing the city from afar and smelling the seawater. I love where I live

Strawberry Net Enjoyment!

So the boy was due for a shop on Strawberry Net (can assure he is not gay his cologne is cheaper on there when Myer doesn’t have bundle offers) and I tagged along as well so I can get something and we all save on postage.

I went through the entire site to find something cool that didn’t cost too much and lo and behold I stumbled over Givenchy’s Rouge Interdit Shine lipstick in Raspeberry Shine.

I’ve never used Givenchy cosmetics before but have been on the lookout for high end brands as my only token to break into the designer label world – Lipstick Index haha – and ummed and ahhed long enough to take a punt on this shade.

Also, since we were new customers, we had free items (for me of course) included in our order so I scored a lipgloss (which originally was a lipstick but I guess they ran out) and a Stila eyeshadow mousse in Honey. Shipping was free too because we bought 3 items and since it was all bundled up with makeup (because fragrances tend to attract a shipping cost) it could be shipped for free!

So the stash I came home to. Well I kind of cheated because the box was delivered at work and I opened it up and dug around to see what my lipstick looked like, but when I got home it was nicely placed on the table for me to open up and play with some more.

And a quick swatch on the hand…it’s quite sheer and sparkly but not as berry as I was hoping for…

And a swatch on the lips, it layers on quite sheer but it’s buildable and a dream to apply, so smooth and shiny plus it has a faint smell of flowers and a light taste of lipstick

And a swatch of the eyeshadow mousse – very happy with my freebie!

I think I might break either the lipstick or the shadow out for dinner tonight, but I was going to do a smokey eye so that may not suit for either.  I have to say also that the Givenchy lipstick is sooo much better than Dior Shine.  I have almost the similar colour for the Dior and it’s not as shiny but much heavier in the red with the sparklyness.

I’ll definitely go back and repurchase the Givenchy in all their colours.  Here’s to getting massive discounts at Strawberry Net!

Spree

It’s been awhile since I did a spree, so it felt a bit odd and scary at the same time!

I made a day of going to Chermside (still can’t make my way there without a Sat Nav – I suck) and did a ‘cheap’ shop…but still managed to blow my now minimal budget for frivolous spending!

First up is the stash

As mentioned previously – first buy of Australis in years and years.

I got Emerald Star

I’ve used it once already and it’s pretty good colour payoff! The colour looks dark in the pot but on skin it’s a deep forest green. Not bad for $12!

I bought the Lash Blash after I threw out my Covergirl Eyelights after 3 months. Now I realised I should’ve bought the Eyelights or Volume Exact because Lash Blash just ruins the curve I get after curling my lashes and having to use my heated eyelash curler to set the curl again.

Summer is here and a lighter cleanser, deodarant and body lotion is needed. The Nivea Light Touch is quite good! Hardly any smell as well so even better for layering on the perfume with no problems.

My makeup remover wipes have always been Johnson and Johnson. I love buying basic stuff in bulk and for $15 for every few months or so it’s totally worth it. A lot have suggested baby wipes – like Panacea81 on YouTube but I’m not quite keen on wiping baby wipes on my face just yet. I was tempted to buy MAC wipes in bulk til I found out it was double the price of the Johnson and Johnson.

I bought myself a footspa too! This one bubbles and has 5 attachments to pretty your feet up

It was a good day, now saving hard for Sydney but I’m so tempted to buy a subscription to US Elle for 2 years when I found out it was much cheaper to buy it from the US rather than buying each issue locally for $8 a month. Oh the temptation…

Paloma Faith

I was listening to the radio in the car for the first time in weeks and Nova had Paloma Faith on their show singing a live acoustic set.  Since I don’t watch Video Hits or Rage anymore, music video spying is a bit scarce except for the odd YouTube search when it comes to mind.

So while drugged up on Panadeine Forte I knew I had to do a search at nearly midnight on my phone because I have the tendency to forget in the morning.  Turns out Paloma Faith has been on St Trinians but I had trouble pinpointing who Andrea was.  Surprisingly she played one of the emo girls and has since started a bluesy, jazzy music career donning out there frocks and outfits and hairstyles.  Kind of like a Lady Gaga from my first impressions but in a more glamourous look to it..

Anyways I finally watched her latest video that’s been on the radio over and over again and I’m quite impressed.

I wish I had her hairstyle!

Late blog!

Late blog tonight. I was meant to write this afternoon but I was watching Ugly Betty, The Apprentice Australia, The Hills, The City and guilty pleasure YouTube videos. So my eyes are shot!

I also went for my first walk/jog tonght and thinking I could conquer the hills on Hamilton, I nearly threw up trying to race up a hill. That’s how unfit I am right now!

Blogging should be more interesting later this week. I bought stuff on the weekend at Chermside so heaps excited about that! I’ve bought some Australis gel eyeliner after God knows how many years! I think Tahyna Tozzi made me do it. Photos to come!

Second set of wisdoms coming out this Friday so a few more weeks of hibernation to go then SYDNEY to visit Carlin in the first weekend of December! Such a jam packed 2 days planned but dead excited about going away and spending it with a few people. Just need to stop spending and really save!
